Minister of Culture Anar Karimov met with Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Azerbaijan Faisal bin Abdullah Al-Hanzab and Ambassador of our country to Qatar Rashad Ismayilov on June 13, AzVision.az reports citing the Ministry of Culture.
The parties stressed the importance of strengthening cultural ties between the two countries and cooperation in this field.
Karimov spoke about the importance of using the experience of Qatar in the restoration and reconstruction of our liberated territories.
He drew attention to the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue, which has been traditionally held since 2011 as part of the “Baku Process” initiative proposed by President Ilham Aliyev in 2008. He spoke about the global campaign Peace4Culture initiated by Azerbaijan. He said the campaign aims to study the role of peace in the development of culture, along with the protection of cultural heritage, the establishment of peaceful and sustainable peace-loving societies, as well as the role of culture in achieving peace. Karimov also invited Qatar to join this global challenge.
Expressing satisfaction with the meeting, Abdullah Al-Hanzab touched upon the issues of humanitarian and cultural cooperation between the two countries. He also invited Anar Karimov to pay an official visit to Qatar.
The meeting continued with the discussion of other issues of mutual interest.
